Looking for a dog? Get a poodle or some other small breed. I'd rather take my chances with an animal that can't jump high enough to reach my throat or one that isn't strong enough to knock me down or mean enough to rip me or my dogs to shreds. Don't get me wrong. I love large dogs....like a Golden Retriever or something real gentle. Oh, and if you take your dog for a walk please, please, please keep it leashed, even if they "never run off" or their "well behaved". Even though you may be comfortable walking with your dog unleashed, other people aren't.
If you do feel the need to get a large dog, please, please, please...give it room to run and play without chaining it up. Chaining a dog causes it to be more aggressive and is cruel to an animal. How would you like to be chained to a tree? And please give Rover a bath more than once a year, take him/her to the vet for regular check ups and shots. If you can't do these things or can't afford it.....then please don't get a dog....get a pet rock. Owning a dog is a big responsibility.
Please, spay or neuter you pets! Un-neutered males are more aggressive.
